EPSCA and the Wey Valley, Surrey

EPSCA is the English Primary Schools Chess Association.  It organises National Schools tournaments and National area and County team competitions for primary aged children.  More information can be found on the EPSCA website: www.epsca.org.uk

Wey Valley Chess – Surrey

Wey Valley Chess affiliates to EPSCA and each year we select children to represent us in their National Team Inter- Association Championships. 

This year, we are selecting the three playing teams differently because due to the inability to source a suitable venue for qualifying tournaments we will ask our Surrey players directly. We need a team with playing reserves and further reserves to will take part in the Zonal events and, if we qualify, also the Finals.

We will select the following numbers for each team:

The 6 teams entered are Barnet, Essex, Kent, Oxfordshire, Richmond, and Wey Valley. Sussex may also enter.

Under 9 Final:

26th April         U/9 Final         at Riverside Academy, 7 Richfield Avenue, Reading RG1 8EQ. The number of teams to qualify for the final will be confirmed shortly before the event.

Under 11 Final:

29th May         U/11 Final       at Bolton School, Chorley New Road, Bolton BL1 4PA. The number of teams to qualify for the final will be confirmed shortly before the event.
