♟️ Uplands Primary School Chess Club – Autumn Term 2026

We are delighted to announce our Chess Club at Uplands Primary School is continuing in the autumn term for all students in Years 2 to 6. Whether your child is a complete beginner or an experienced player, everyone is welcome!

📍 Location: All sessions take place in the Jubilee Suite.

🗓️ Club Schedule

Chess Club runs every Thursday before school, from 8:00 AM to 8:40 AM, on the following eight dates:

  • First Session: 8th October 2026.
  • October 2026: 8, 15, 22.
  • November 2026: 5, 12, 19, 26.
  • December 2026; 3.
  • Final Session: 3rd December 2026
  • ❌ No session on 29th October due to half term

💷 Membership & Payment

  • Autumn Term Membership Fee: £92.40 at the early bird rate.
  • Payment Deadline: Due by the first session of term
  • Early Bird Discount: Available until 23rd October 2026
  • Late Payment Fee: £25 may apply after this date (at the organisers’ discretion)

♟️ Trial Lesson

Not sure whether your child will enjoy chess club? New pupils can attend one trial session for £15, provided the trial is booked and paid for in advance by a parent or guardian.

If your child decides to join the club after the trial, the £15 trial fee will be deducted from the termly membership fee.

To apply for a trial: Please complete the membership form and write “TRIAL LESSON” in the comments box. We will then email you with details of how to pay the £15 trial fee and arrange the session.

Trial sessions are subject to availability and must be arranged in advance. We are unable to offer free trial sessions.

📌 Important Notes

  • Missed sessions (due to illness/ school activities/ sports/ excursions/ residentials/ performances/ rehearsals/ unexpected school closures (for any reason)/ bank holidays/ INSET days, etc.) cannot be refunded.
  • Membership continues automatically each term unless cancelled in writing.
  • To cancel, please provide half a term’s notice via email to
